RUDOLPH SCHINDLER

R.M.Schindler's lifework is amongst the most unique architectural works of the twentieth century. He synthesized modernist ideals of his teachers Loos, Wanger and his employer F.L.Wright in his own style, which he called “spatial architecture”. This building was designed by the architect to demonstrate some of the principles of this architecture; which are continuity with exterior space; varying ceiling heights; large glazed windows and overhangs. The application of these principles resulted in a fluid space, flooded with light; and a facade of both incredible complexity and synthesis.
